Johnson's Black Belt Academy was established in 1974 by 9th Degree Black Belt and International Martial Arts Champion, Rick Johnson. Hanshi Johnson has won countless titles, is Director of the Gendai Kobudo Shinkokai, and has been placed in the Goshin Jutsu International Hall of Fame, Warren County Hall of Fame and is a recognized certified instructor.

Since its inception, JBBA has grown over 40 years to where more than thousands of men, women and children, ages 3-70+, have enjoyed the benefits of a JBBA martial arts programs each week.
JBBA students and instructors have appeared in a variety of local,
national and international broadcasts, as well as in numerous newspapers
and magazines. Additionally, JBBA has been voted #1 by several print
media over it’s many years.

Through our association with Grandmaster Stephen Capela and
the Goshin Jutsu Organizations and a host of JBBA Black Belts
operating schools across the United States and Europe, we have
established what was a small rural dojo to a worldwide multi-disciplinary
association available to every student.
